I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year break. You did have a break, right?
I usually love the Christmas break. Two whole weeks of relaxing, watching movies, twinkling fairy lights, lots of food and planning for the next year.
Only this year…or rather last year…was different.
Because of our new pup-pup, relaxing is hard other than in short hour and a half bursts, we couldn’t have a tree and I was exhausted.
And I only had one week off! Not doing that again.
I still managed to eat a lot of food, though. And on Boxing Day we managed to watch a film! Shock!
It was also different because in November 2017 I discovered a new way of planning for the year ahead. It involved revenue planning, which I’d considered but never really figured out how to do, and proper in-depth content strategies and themes and stuff. And it involved spreadsheets!
I do love a good spreadsheet.
So, when I should have been prepping January’s content, I was instead creating new spreadsheets and taking far too pleasure in playing around with formulas.
Anyway, here we are!
I now have something akin to a marketing strategy, a properly planned three months, a content strategy AND a revenue plan.
I also have a new direction for Adminosaurus, but that’s going to take a while to come to fruition. So you’ll have to wait and see.
Because Adminosaurus is all about the evolving business, and sometimes that evolving business is Adminosaurus.
A lot of business owners talk about choosing words for their year. Something to help shape their plans and everything that they do. Something to motivate them. It’s meant to be a sort of theme to shape their business for the next twelve months.
So, for the first time, this year I’ve chosen a word. Actually two words.
I’ve pinned them up on my office wall as a reminder to stay motivated, inspired and to actually DO STUFF.
You know, instead of have ideas and then do nothing with them. Which is what I’m excellent at.
They also tie into my goals for 2018.
My goals are mainly things I want to create and financial, which is where the ‘Abundance’ comes in. The ‘Action’ is how I’m going to do it.
I have a feeling 2018 is going to be a great year.
There are freebies and goodies coming this way, just you wait and see.
How about you? Did you spend the Christmas break planning as well as resting?
What do you want to achieve in 2018? What are your words?
